The hare laughed loudly but accepted the challenge. The race began. The hare ran very fast and soon left the tortoise far behind. Feeling overconfident, the hare thought, “The tortoise is so slow. I’ll take a nap and still win easily.”
While the hare slept under a tree, the tortoise kept walking without stopping. He did not rest even once. Slowly but steadily, he reached the finishing point.
When the hare woke up, he ran quickly, but it was too late. To his shock, the tortoise had already won the race!
