Sub: Deplorable condition of government-run hospitals
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the miserable condition of government-run hospitals in our city. Hospitals are meant to provide proper treatment and care to patients, but unfortunately, the present situation is completely unsatisfactory.
Most government hospitals suffer from an acute shortage of beds, forcing many patients to lie on the floors or wait endlessly for admission. The sanitation system is extremely poor, and hospital premises are not cleaned regularly. Dirty wards and unhygienic toilets increase the risk of infection and make recovery difficult for patients.
Moreover, doctors and nurses are often unavailable when needed. They come and go without maintaining proper duty hours, leaving many patients unattended for long periods. This situation has become a serious cry for help from helpless patients and their families. Despite repeated appeals and complaints, no effective steps have been taken by the authorities.
I sincerely request the concerned government departments to take immediate action to improve hospital facilities, ensure cleanliness, increase the number of beds, and maintain strict supervision over medical staff so that patients receive proper care and treatment.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
Rahul Sen
