the passage and answer the questions that follow:
On
September 30, 1659, I, miserable Robinson Crusoe, being shipwrecked during a
violent storm, came on shore on this dismal island. I call it the Island of
Despair. I was almost dead and the rest of my ship's company was drowned. I had
neither food, house nor clothes. I feared I would be devoured by wild beasts.
When night came, I slept in a tree for fear of wild creatures. It rained all
night.
The
rain continued through the next day with gusts of wind. Only a wreck of my ship
was to be seen at low water. I swam to the wreck to rescue and secure for my
survival some food and other provisions. I was able to collect some wood,
cable, string, a knife, nails, and a gun. I also collected a hammock and some
canvas with which I made a tent. I got some ink and paper. I also found some
money, but they were useless to me on this barren island. I was some hundred
leagues out of the ordinary course of the trade of mankind. I was convinced I
had to spend the rest of my life alone on this wild, desolate island.

Sun-warmed in the late season's grace
Under the autumn's gentlest sky
We walked and froze half-through a pace.
The great black snake went reeling by.
Head down, tongue flickering on the trail
He quested through the parting grass.
Sun glazed his curves of diamond scale
And we lost breath to see him pass.
What track he followed, what small food
Fled living from his fierce intent,
We scarcely thought; still as we stood
Our eyes went with him as he went.
Cold, dark and splendid he was gone
Into the grass that hid his prey.
We took a deeper breath of day,
Looked at each other, and went on.

balanced diet is not a fat, yo-yo or crash diet it is a way of ensuring you eat
all of the required nutrients for your body to function properly. A balanced
diet will not be the same for every one. Every one is different and often,
individuals will require a different amount and type of nutrients. What you
need will vary and wa depend on age, gender, lifestyle, illness and the rate at
which your body works. Eating a balanced diet is the key in maintaining good
health and keeping your body in optimum condition. A balanced diet does not cut
out food groups. It consists of a wide variety of food, served in the correct
proportions, to support your body and keep you energised, motivated and
healthy. Carbohydrates and starchy foods, such as rice, pasta, cereal potato
should generally be the size of your feast. Butter and bread are often high in
fat and sugar, therefore only a small amount if needed, aims for a portion that
is the size of the tip of your thumb. Protein sources, such as meat and fish
should generally be the size of your palm. Fruits and vegetables will generally
make up the largest part of your meals. Try to add a variety of greens to your
lunch and dinner if you can.
Once
again, portion sizes will vary. If you exercise regularly, you may need more
food than someone who isn't very active. In this case, a nutritionist may be
able to help you.

2. Title:
The Clever Cap Seller and the Monkeys
One
day, a travelling cap seller decided to rest under a tree because he was
exhausted. Due to his weariness, he fell asleep while sitting under the cool
shade of the tree. What he didn't know was that there were a bunch of notorious
monkeys observing him from the branches of the huge tree he was resting under.
The
monkeys, being fascinated by the colourful caps lying in the cap seller's
basket, ran down and grabbed all of them the moment they noticed that he was
asleep. Hearing them scamper up the tree, the cap seller suddenly awoke, and on
seeing his empty basket, realized that he made a mistake by not checking the
branches before picking this tree to rest under.
In a
frenzy, he picked up a few stones he found lying around and threw them at the
bunch of excited monkeys, who just dodged them as they observed him with a look
of amusement. Now desperate, as the cap seller was wondering how to get back
his caps, he noticed how the monkeys were observing him.
All
of a sudden, an idea struck him. He took the cap he was wearing off his head
and threw it on the ground, making sure that the monkeys were seeing. The
monkeys, thinking this was a game of sorts, threw down their caps as well.
Without wasting a moment, the cap seller quickly gathered up all his caps,
dumped them in his basket, and ran off, making a mental note to always check
the trees before resting under them and heaving a sigh of relief.
Moral:
Presence of mind and clever thinking can solve problems.
