“But it is the company’s orders. What can we do? We shall be dismissed if we don’t obey, and someone else will do it.”

The sun does arise,
And make happy the skies.
The merry bells ring
To welcome the spring.
The skylark and thrush,
The birds of the bush,
Sing louder around,
To the bells’ cheerful sound,
While our sports shall be seen
On the echoing green.
Old John with white hair
Does laugh away care,
Sitting under the oak,
Among the old folk,
They laugh at our play,
And soon they all say:
Such, such were the joys
When we all, girls and boys,
In our youth-time were seen
On the echoing green.

9. A Night in an Old Building
Last winter, my two friends, Rohan and Amit, and I went on a trip to a distant village. We were enjoying the journey when the weather suddenly changed. Dark clouds covered the sky, and soon heavy rain accompanied by a strong storm began. We were far away from home and could not find a safe way to return.
After walking for some time, we saw an old and desolate building near the road. The doors and windows were broken, and the place looked deserted. As the rain became heavier, we decided to take shelter there for the night. We entered the building carefully and found a small room where we could sit together.
At midnight, we heard strange sounds coming from another room. We became frightened and sat close together. Suddenly, there was a loud noise near the window. Amit picked up a torch and we slowly went to see what had happened. To our surprise, we found that a loose wooden door was moving in the strong wind. The other strange sounds were also caused by branches rubbing against the walls.
We felt relieved after discovering the truth. We spent the rest of the night talking quietly and encouraging one another. At dawn, the storm stopped and the sky became clear. We thanked each other for staying brave and left the old building safely.
That night was frightening but unforgettable. It taught us that courage and friendship can help us face difficult situations.
